Post. Full clear strike of "Hartford Penny-Post, 2 Cts." double-oval
handstamp on small cover (red and blue trim on flaps) with 3c Dull Red (26)
tied by target, "Broad Brook Ct. Nov. 8" circular datestamp, to street
address in Hartford, tiny "NOT FOUND" straightline handstamp crossed out in
pen, readdressed to Springfield Mass., "Hartford Ct. Nov. 11, 1861"
double-circle datestamp, reduced at left into Hartford datestamp, otherwise
Very Fine, an unusual use of an extremely rare local-post marking, we have
located only two examples (the other offered in the following lot) and it
is unlikely that more than a few exist

two in Sloane's records or known to us (no more than a few exist), ex
