Baltimore Md., 1857-63 Horse & Rider Issue, Study Collection. 109
stamps, including 1LB8 block of four and a few pairs, a fascinating study
collection -- the kind that starts collectors in an entirely new area --
filled with plate varieties ("Sent" and Short Rays), shades, reconstructed
settings, cancellations, pieces in combination with 3c 1857's, many mounted
on pages from the Kelly and Abt collections with their notes, condition
varies and faults must be expected, overall Fine-Very Fine, the Horse &
Rider stamps have so much to offer philatelists, and this study collection
is the ideal nucleus for expansion -- Scott value exceeds $5,000.00 |
