A 1118 imageHale & Co., (6c) Light Blue (75L1). Horizontal strip of three, Positions 17-19, left stamp "Wail" instead of "Wall" variety, large margins to just barely in at top, cancelled by three strikes of boxed handstamp (not tied), used on July 5, 1844 folded letter and bill of lading from Boston to New York City, Very Fine, an extremely rare multiple -- the Hale & Co. stamps were often cut into singles for convenience, making strips of three or larger extremely unusual -- ex Boker (Image) E. 1,500-2,000
  1119 imageHale & Co., (6c) Light Blue (75L1). Neatly cut to shape with margins all around, tied by red "Forwarded by Hale & Co. from Boston" oval and "Paid" handstamp, second strike of Paid over Collect box on June 6, 1845 folded letter to New York City, Very Fine (Image) E. 200-300
