docketed Jul. 13, 1865, to local street addressEXTREMELY FINE. ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL BOYD'S POSTAL STATIONERY ITEMS. The Deep Blue on Orange laid paper is the rarest and most elusive of all Boyd's issues. The 1957 Caspary sale catalogue described this as one of two recorded examples, which included the cut square offered in lot 739 in this sale. A review of various records and catalogues to locate another entire has been fruitless. The Scott value of $350.00 is necessarily obsolete, and we have provided a conservative estimate.
