Jonathan Rose notes in his book on the 1869 Pictorials that he has never seen an example of this essay, and that none were present in the Brazer, Juhring, Wonderlich (or Lopez) collections.

showing guide mark in margin, range of colors incl. Orange Red, Pale Orange
Red, Red Brown, Deep Red Brown, Pale Violet, Dull Violet and Blue, the six
with similar shades match as left and right margin pairs, rich colors, few
small faults, all appear Fine-Very Fine, an interesting and highly
