large margins, deep shade and sharp impression, tied by red square grid,
matching "New-York 10 Jul. 10 cts." integral-rate cds on 1847 folded cover
to Louisville Ky., vertical file fold well clear of stamp and markings,
slight soiling, otherwise Very Fine, this is the third earliest known
usage of the 1847 Issue, the 1847 issue was placed on sale on July 1,
the July 2 cover is the earliest known usage, followed by one dated July 9
-- one day earlier than the cover offered here

datestamp, vertical file fold well clear of stamp and marking (some
splitting), slight overall soiling, otherwise Very Fine and unusual usage,
this is the only recorded usage of the 1847 Issue from St.
Augustine, Florida was admitted to the Union on March 3, 1845, but St.
Augustine continued to use the territorial postmark, the distance is under
300 miles and so this cover was either double-rated or there was a shortage
of 5c stamps, with 1976 P.F. certificate
