VERY FINE APPEARANCE. THIS IS THE LARGEST RECORDED PIECE BEARING THE 90-CENT 1860 ISSUE. AN EXCELLENT ALTERNATIVE TO A FULL COVER.

There are only five covers recorded bearing the 90c 1860 Issue. Of the five covers, two are franked solely with the 90c stamp. Of the remaining three, one is used from Boston, and is from the Howland correspondence. The cover realized $332,500 in the Ishikawa sale. The piece offered here, bearing $1.21 in postage, is also from the Howland correspondence.
