one stamp has tiny thin speckEXTREMELY FINE. BLOCKS OF THE 24-CENT 1860 ARE CONSIDERABLY RARER USED THAN UNUSED. THIS PERFECTLY-CENTERED BLOCK IS PROBABLY THE FINEST EXTANT.
With pencil note on back from Stanley Ashbrook: "This block is guaranteed to be genuine and sound. Used blocks of four of this stamp are very rare. The grids are genuine." and signed and dated June 29, 1950.

Forrest" in Hong Kong, China, light "New York Oct. 2" datestamp,
London transit, ms. "over -1/4 oz" notation at left, "1d" credit
handstamp and magenta "28" ratings, endorsed "Via Marseilles, Hong
Kong (Dec. 11) receiving backstamp, cover slightly reduced at top affecting
3c and 10c stamps, 3c stamp piece out at bottom leftVERY FINE. AN EXTREMELY RARE FOUR-COLOR FRANKING TO HONG KONG.
This cover was prepaid at 39c French Mail rate via Marseilles, found to be over -1/4 ounce limit at exchange office and re-route by British Mail via Southampton with appropriate 28c credit.
